SENATE BEAN SOUP 
2 lbs. sm. navy beans
Smoked ham hocks
1/4 c. chopped onions
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 c. mashed potatoes
Salt & pepper to taste

Boil beans 30 minutes and drain. Add fresh water and ham hocks and cook 1 1/2 hours. Add onions and celery and cook 45 to 60 minutes. Before serving add mashed potatoes and seasonings. Serves 7 to 8.
