GREEN TOMATO PICKLES 
2 quarts green tomatoes, slices
1/2 c. salt
2 c. vinegar
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3 tbsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. turmeric
4 c. onions, sliced
2 lg. sweet red peppers
1 hot green or red pepper

Mix tomatoes, onion and pepper together. Salt and let stand for about 12 hours. Drain. Heat vinegar, sugar and spices to a boil, simmer for about 15 minutes. Add the drained tomatoes, onion and pepper to this. Bringing slowly to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon.
