MEAL IN A LOAF | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped green bell pepper 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. salt 1 c. Cheddar cheese soup 1 (16 oz.) loaf unsliced French bread 4 oz. Cheddar cheese, sliced Brown ground beef in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain. Add green pepper, celery, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, salt and soup; mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes. Cut top off loaf. Scoop out loaf to form shell. Crumble enough bread to measure 2 cups. Add to ground beef mixture. Spoon into bread shell. Top with cheese slices; replace top of loaf. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 5-8 minutes or until cheese melts and loaf is heated through. Cut into wedges. |
