PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sifted enriched flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. seedless raisins
3/4 c. rolled oats

Mix and sift first 4 ingredients. Beat shortening until creamy. Add sugar gradually, continuing to beat. Add peanut butter; blend well. Stir in eggs, milk, and vanilla; mix well. Fold in raisins and oats; cover. Chill 1 hour. Set oven at 350 degrees. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake 15 minutes or until brown. Cool on racks. Makes about 48 cookies.
