HARVEST TORTE 
Great served either warm or cold!

4 cups diced, pared apples
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped

Combine all ingredients and stir until thoroughly mixed. Do not beat.

Bake in an 8-inch greased square pan at 400°F until apples are well done.

Serve with cream, whipped cream or ice cream.
