1 GALLON CUCUMBER PICKLES | |
Wash and slice cucumbers. Pack in a gallon glass jar. Add 1 cup canning salt. Fill with cold water. Let set 3 days. Drain and rinse good. Put back in jar. Add 2 tablespoons of alum. Fill with cold water. Let set 24 hours. Drain and rinse good. Pack in jar. Put 1 tablespoon turmeric. Fill with White House Apple Cider vinegar. Let set 9 days. Drain and rinse. Put back in jar. Add 3 cups sugar for 3 days (that will be 9 cups). Put large bag of pickling spice in jar when you start sugar. |
