PRALINE COOKIES
1 1/2 c. flour, leveled
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. solid shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped pecans

BROWN SUGAR GLAZE:

2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 to 2 1/2 tbsp. milk
3/4 c. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients, except the pecans and the glaze ingredients. Blend at medium speed to form a stiff dough. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-13 minutes until a deep golden brown and cool. Top each with 1/2 teaspoon pecans.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and milk. Add powdered sugar and blend to a glazing consistency. Drizzle over pecans. This makes about 4 dozen cookies.
