BISCOCHITOS 
1 lb. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sweet red wine
6 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. anise extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening with sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add anise, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix 1 cup at a time into the shortening mixture. Add wine to make dough moist. Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutters. In small bowl, mix together some sugar and cinnamon. Place cookies (both sides) in sugar/cinnamon mixture before and after baking. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
