BANANA SPLIT DESSERT 
Vanilla wafers or graham cracker crumbs
2 or 3 bananas
1/2 gal. Neapolitan ice cream
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chocolate chips
2 c. powdered sugar, divided
1 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. heavy cream, whipped
Maraschino cherries for garnish, if desired

Line a 15 x 11 inch pan with crumbs. Slice bananas over crumbs. Cover bananas with ice cream, cut into 1/2 inch slices. Sprinkle with nuts and freeze until firm. Melt butter and chocolate chips; add all but 2 tablespoons sugar and all the evaporated milk.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. This takes quite awhile. Cool, add vanilla and pour over frozen dessert. Whip cream with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and spread over top. Add more crumbs, garnish with cherries. Store in freezer. (May use Cool Whip instead of cream.) Real rich dessert, so cut in small pieces.
