OUTRIGGER RIBS OR PORK CHOPS 
3 lbs. sm. meaty spareribs or pork chops
1 recipe gingerroot barbecue sauce
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Combine sugar and salt together, then sprinkle ribs or chops on both sides with this mixture and let stand 2 hours. Brush with barbecue sauce; let stand at least 1 hour; longer is better. Place meat in very hot oven, 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Pour off fat. Continue baking in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done, turning and brushing with barbecue sauce. May be cooked on charcoal grill.

GINGERROOT BARBECUE SAUCE:

1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. catsup
3 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. grated gingerroot or 2 tsp. dry ginger

Mix ingredients, let stand overnight before using.
