1 env. active dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 (10 oz.) pkg. pie crust mix 1 tbsp. granulated sugar 1 egg yolk 1/2 c. strawberry preserves, orange marmalade, or other jam Soften yeast in warm water. Blend pie crust mix, sugar, egg yolk and the softened yeast; mix well. Roll dough into balls the size of a small walnut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make deep indentation in center or each ball, shaping into shells 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch deep. Spoon 1 teaspoon of jam into each shell. Let rise in warm place for 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from sheet. Makes about 3 dozen. |
