2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, flour and soda. Bring remaining ingredients to a boil. Pour liquid over dry ingredients. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Grease and flour large deep cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.

Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.

Frosting:

1 stick butter
6 tbsp. buttermilk
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. nuts

Bring to a boil the butter, buttermilk and cocoa. Add powdered sugar and nuts. Frost cake while cake is hot.
