PUNCH BOWL CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix, cooked by directions on box
1 lg. can crushed pineapple, drained
2 sm. pkgs. vanilla instant pudding (made by directions on pkg.)
1 lg. box frozen strawberries
4 or 5 bananas
12 to 16 oz. Cool Whip
1 can cherry pie filling
Nuts (if desired)

In punch bowl or large glass bowl, layer 1/2 of the cake (cut in small pieces) on bottom of bowl. Add 1/2 can of cherry pie filling, 1/2 can of the drained pineapple, 1/2 of the vanilla pudding, 1/2 of he strawberries, a thin layer of bananas and 1/2 of the Cool Whip. Repeat the layers, starting with the cake and ending with the Cool Whip. Sprinkle nuts and cherries on top, if desired. Cool. Chill before serving.
