MEAT N 'TATER CASSEROLE | |
Prepare pie crust mix for two crusts according to directions. (Your own or a purchased mix). Roll out and line a pie plate with one crust. Combine: 1 lb. ground beef (I like to use ground turkey) 1/2 c. milk 1/2 env. (1/4 c.) dry onion soup mix Dash of pepper and allspice Lightly pat into pastry lined plate. Top with one 12 ounce package loose pack frozen hash-brown potatoes that have been thawed. Adjust top crust. Seal and flute edges. Cut design on top. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour or until nicely browned. Serve with warm catsup. Note: I vary this from time to time. Sometimes I leave the top crust off and drizzle a little butter over the potatoes and let them brown nicely. OR, use left over mashed potatoes as your top layer. Any way is very good. |
