FAST CREAMY PASTA SAUCE
4 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, pressed
1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 c. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. dried basil

In a small saucepan, melt butter in oil. Add garlic, cheese, and basil, stirring to blend over medium-low heat. Stir in cream.

Makes about 1 cup of sauce that can be tossed on your favorite pasta.

For a variation, try adding a can of chicken noodle soup along with your cooked pasta when sauce is done. Heat and serve.

Fast Creamy Pasta Sauce

Flour doesn't belong in pasta sauce. That's what they use to stretch the store bought stuff so they don't need to cook it for as long to let it thicken.

Great! Beats jar stuff hands down. Used garlic powder instad of pressed. Would thicken with flour as the others said when I do it again.

I find this recipe very convenient for a guilty pleasure! I do add flour to thicken it, or -even better, but not as white- bread crumbs!

My husband and I love this with Spinach noodles. I pair it with a meat or sprinkle a little bacon on top. Make sure the add the cream last. Really it is a better if you add just a little flour (tiny bit) and make a roux. Over medium heat (or so) let it bubble for a while while whisking it. Then reduce the heat and slowly add the cream while continuing to whisk. I approximate and it works great. If you do it this way it stays creamy and doesn't separate into a greasy glob that doesn't want to reheat properly and re-cream. :) It is super fast.
