COOKIE CREATIONS 
1 c. butter
3 hard boiled egg yolks, mashed
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
4 paste food colors
1 c. powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, soda, tartar and vanilla. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Beat well after each addition. Divide dough in 4 equal parts. Dip toothpick in food color, then rub in dough. Knead into dough (may want to use rubber gloves). Add color until shade desired. Wrap in Saran Wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Form shapes with chilled dough. (Take a small amount of dough from refrigerator at a time. Dough becomes sticky when warm). Form on cookie sheet. Bake until firm, not brown, 10 minutes. Let cool on wire rack 5 minutes. Store in covered containers. Can roll out and use cookie cutters. Kids love them.
