IRENE'S COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 pt. sour cream

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with sour cream to mixture and add vanilla.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix topping ingredients together.

Pour 1/2 batter into greased tube pan or 9 x 12 inch baking dish. Spread half of topping. Pour rest of batter, ending with topping. Swirl with knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
