SWEET - & - SOUR POT ROAST 
1 tbsp. shortening
2 - 3 lb. round bone pot roast
1/4 c. sliced onion
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. vinegar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Melt shortening in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add pot roast and brown well all sides. Remove meat and cook onions until transparent. Return meat to Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer over low heat until meat is tender. Makes 4 to 5 servings.
