CHEWY OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour, unsifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped
2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 c. raisins

Combine first 4 ingredients in large mixing bowl and beat until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yield: 3 dozen cookies.
