CREAMY SOUP BASE 
2 pkg. George Washington (light equals 2 cans broth)
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. shredded carrot
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
4 c. milk
2 c. any vegetable

In a 3 or 4 quart saucepan combine the broth, onion, celery and carrot. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Cool. Place mixture in blender container of food processor; blend until smooth. Set aside. In the saucepan melt the butter. Stir in the flour and nutmeg. Add the pureed vegetable mixture and milk. Add 2 cups chopped broccoli, mushroom or cauliflower. Broccoli is our favorite. Cook and stir until thickened.
