FUDGE RIBBON CAKE 
2 tbsp. butter
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. corn starch
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

CAKE:

3 sq. unsweetened chocolate
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
1 c. boiling water

Mix filling ingredients and beat until smooth. Set aside. Combine cake ingredients and blend until smooth. Grease and flour 3 (9 inch) round cake pans.

Cover bottom of each pan with cake mixture, put a layer of filling on top, gently cover filling with remaining cake mixture. Be careful not to blend cake into filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done.

Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
