MILLION DOLLAR POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
6 eggs, at room temperature
4 c. plain flour
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. almond flavoring (optional)

Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy (beat at least 7 minutes). Add eggs, one at a time (beat 1 minute after each addition). Add flour and milk alternately, beating well after each addition. Stir in flavorings. Pour batter into well greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour 40 minutes or until cake tests done.
