MACARONI & CHEESE CASSEROLE | |
8 oz. elbow macaroni 6 oz. processed cheese, diced or shredded (approx. 1 1/2 c.) 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. flour 1 tbsp. salt 2 c. milk Cook macaroni in 3 quarts salted, boiling water 6 to 7 minutes. Drain and rinse. Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour and milk. Stir slowly until it starts to thicken. Add salt and 1 cup of cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Add macaroni and stir gently. Place in a buttered casserole dish. Scatter remaining cheese over macaroni. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 4. |
