DATE OAT COOKIES 
1 c. finely chopped pitted dates
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar (white)
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. commercial sour cream
1 c. quick oats

Mix dates with 1/4 cup flour to separate pieces; reserve. Stir together remaining flour, baking soda, and salt. Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture in several additions, alternately with sour cream, until smooth. Add reserved date-flour mixture and oats; stir to mix well. Drop by spoon on cookie sheet a few inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
