SOUR DOUGH BISCUITS | |
2 pkgs. yeast 1 c. warm water 1/4 c. sugar 2 c. buttermilk 3/4 c. vegetable oil 4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 6 or more c. flour (self-rising) Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, baking powder, and soda. Mix well with electric mixer. Add more flour and stir with spoon until right consistency. Can store in large container with lid for about a week in refrigerator. Pinch off dough as needed for biscuits. Bake at 450 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Do not have to let rise before baking. Note: Excellent for working women on the go!! |
