PRUNE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. cooked prunes

Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs, well beaten, add flour to which soda, salt and spices have been added. Add milk, vanilla, nuts and prunes. DO NOT CHOP PRUNES as mixer will do it. Bake at 325-350 degrees for 1 hour. Use tube pan.

ICING FOR PRUNE CAKE:

1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 stick butter
1/2 c. buttermilk

Mix all ingredients well. Boil mixture to soft ball stage. After mixing. DO NOT STIR WHILE BOILING. When mixture reaches soft ball stage, remove from heat. Spoon over cake while hot. Cake can be decorated with candied fruit or nuts.
