OATMEAL FRUIT AND NUT COOKIES 
Mix thoroughly:

1 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Stir in:

1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk

Sift together and stir in:

1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Stir in:

2 c. rolled oats
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. cut up nuts

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned. Bake 400 degrees 8-10 minutes. 5 1/2 dozen cookies.
