OLD FASHIONED BEEF STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. lean beef, cut into cubes
4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
2 tbsp. shortening
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
4 med. potatoes, quartered
5 drops Worcestershire sauce
8 sm. whole white onions
1/2 soup can of water
Salt and pepper

In large heavy pan, brown meat in shortening. Pour off fat. Add soups, water and seasonings. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add rest of ingredients. Cover and cook 1 hour or until vegetables are tender - stirring now and then. Garnish with parsley if desired. Makes 6 servings.
