HOMEMADE PLAY CLAY | |
1: 1 c. flour 1/2 c. salt 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. water 1 tbsp. oil 1 tsp. food coloring 2: 3 c. flour 1 c. salt 1 - 1 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. cooking oil For recipes 1 and 2, use a non-stick pot. Stir ingredients together well. heat over medium heat until a soft, lumpy ball forms. This happens suddenly. Knead a few minutes. 3: 6 c. flour 3 c. salt 3 tbsp. powdered alum For recipe 3, mix together. Then add 6 cups boiling water all at once. Stir until well blended. Turn the dough out onto a thick pad of newspaper topped with wax paper. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Now add 1 tablespoon salad oil. Divide dough into 6 pieces. Knead 7 minutes. Add coloring. Play clay should last four months if it is wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and then in a close- sealed plastic bag and kept in the refrigerator. |
