CHILE CON CARNE 
2 1/2 lb. ground beef (or turkey)
2 lg. onions
1 bunch celery
1 lg. can tomato juice
2 cans tomato soup
4 cans kidney beans
1/2 tsp. garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. oregano
2 tbsp. white vinegar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 cans mushroom pieces, if desired
1 tsp. chili powder

Brown meat and onions. Add all remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat 4 to 5 hours. Serve with crusty rolls. Freezes well. Serves 12 to 14 people. (Recipe can be cut in 1/2 or 1/4.)
