SPONGE CANDY 
1 c. sugar
1 c. dark corn syrup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. baking soda

1. Mix sugar, syrup and vinegar in a pot, stirring occasionally.

2. Let the mixture boil until it reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.;

3. Remove from heat and immediately put in 1 tablespoon baking soda.

4. Mixture will foam.

5. Put in a greased 9x13 pan.

6. Let cool.

7. Break into pieces.

8. Dip in melted chocolate if desired.
