KOREAN SOY SAUCE CHICKEN | |
1 fryer chicken, cut into frying pieces, peeled and scored 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. soy sauce (Kikkoman) 1 tbsp. sesame oil 1 stalk green onions, finely chopped 1 or 2 buttons garlic, crushed 1/4 tsp. black pepper 2 tbsp. vegetable oil Heat a deep frying pan or pot and add vegetable oil. When the oil gets hot, fry the chicken pieces with the garlic until they get opaque looking (a couple of minute). Turn the heat down to medium and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. Then add the sauce made with the rest of the ingredients to the pan. Cover and let it simmer for about an hour or until it's tender. Optional: You can add mushrooms (canned, drained), or carrots or round onions, bamboo shoots. |
