PERSIMMON COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. persimmon pulp
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts
1 c. raisins

Cream sugar and shortening. Dissolve baking soda in pulp and beaten egg. Add to first mixture. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add nuts and raisins, then combine with persimmon mixture. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degree for 20 minutes.
