HOMEMADE HARD CANDY 
3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. Karo syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. oil flavoring
Food coloring
Powdered sugar

Sprinkle powdered sugar on large cookie sheet. Mix sugar, syrup and water in large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310 degrees as mixture forms hard brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat, stir in flavoring and color. Pour on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cool and break into pieces. Store in air tight ziplock bags.
