TURTLE BARS 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 stick butter, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 bag of caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
Nuts, chopped (optional)

Mix cake mix, melted butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together and let stand for 5 minutes (mixture will be doughy). Cut dough in half and pat half into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan extending dough 1/4 inch up side of pan. Sprinkle with 12 ounce chocolate chips. Melt bag of caramels in 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Pour on top of chocolate chips. (Can also sprinkle with chopped nuts.) Roll remaining dough between waxed paper and pat on top of caramels and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
