RHUBARB CAKE | |
2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1/2 c. milk 2 c. rhubarb 1/2 c. brown sugar Sift flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, allspice and clove. Add shortening as if for pie crust. Put 1 cup aside for topping. Mix eggs, milk and rhubarb into dry mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Add brown sugar to reserved dough. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. |
