BUTTERMILK ROLLS (QUICK) 
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast

Warm the buttermilk, then add shortening, sugar and salt and stir until shortening is melted. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast. Add flour and soda to buttermilk mixture and make a soft dough. Cover bowl and let dough rise until double in size. On floured surface roll dough to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Cover and let rise until double in size, about an hour. Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. You may add a little flour to make dough easy to work with.
