BAKED APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. flour
1 heaping tsp. baking powder
1/2 stick butter
Milk to make soft dough (1/2 c.)

Roll dough. Divide into squares. Put 1/2 or 1 small peeled and cored apple in center. Fold dough over apple.

Put 2 cups water, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter in pan. Heat until syrup comes to a boil. Pour into bottom of deep baking dish. Lay dumplings in and bake at 375 degrees about 45 minutes. Serve with milk or ice cream. Makes 5-6.
