PORK CHOPS INDONESIAN | |
6 pork chops, with salt and pepper to taste 3 tbsp. shortening 1 lb. can of peach slices 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. grated onion 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1/8 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. ginger 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1 lg. bell pepper Cooked rice Season chops with salt and pepper. Melt shortening in large skillet brown chops on both sides. Remove from heat; drain all but 2 tablespoons fat from skillet. Drain peach slices; reserve syrup, set peach slices aside. Blend peach syrup, sugar, soy sauce, mustard and garlic powder. Pour over chops. Cover, simmer for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, remove seeds and white membrane from green pepper; cut into slivers; add with peaches slices to chops, simmer for 5 minutes longer. Serve over rice. Serves 6. |
