MAPLE BRAN MUFFINS 
3/4 c. natural wheat bran
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. maple syrup
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c. oil
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
3 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. chopped walnuts

Combine bran, milk and maple syrup. Mix in egg and oil. Combine remaining muffin ingredients. Add bran mixture, stirring until just moistened. Divide batter into 12 greased muffin tins. Bake at 400 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

GLAZE:

1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. maple syrup

Combine glaze ingredients, stirring to blend, and spread over warm muffins.
