HOMEMADE CHILI | |
1 1/2 lb. hamburger 1 lg. onion, finely chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped (precooked) 2 tsp. sweet basil leaves 1 tsp. oregano 2 cans chili beans 1 lg. can whole tomatoes 1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 c. catsup 1/4 c. finely chopped green pepper 1 tsp. butter Salt and pepper to taste Chili powder to taste Fry hamburger with onion and green pepper. Add precooked celery and whole tomatoes. Chop up tomatoes. Add all other ingredients. Bring to medium high heat for about 10 minutes. Return to medium low for about 2 hours or more. Makes 10 servings. |
