YESTERDAY'S CHOCOLATE BABKA FRENCH TOAST | |
1 chocolate babka 1 egg 1 dash of salt 1 tbsp unsalted butter 1 tbsp confectioners sugar Whisk egg and salt in a flat bowl or deep plate. At the same time, heat butter in a small frying pan, on medium heat. Slice 2 1" pieces of Chocolate Babka. Carefully place each piece of Babka in the egg mixture, and rotate until all sides are coated. Again carefully, transfer each piece of Babka to the frying pan, and cook on each side, for approximately 1-2 minutes, until golden brown on each side. Transfer to a plate or platter, and dust with confectioners sugar. Other suggested toppings are: maple syrup, sliced strawberries, raspberries, orange slices, sliced banana, vanilla ice cream, and/or whipped cream. Editor's Note: If you don't have Chocolate Babka available, plain Babka may be substituted. Serves 1-2 people. Submitted by: Kathleen B. |
