GINGER COOKIES
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. molasses
1 lg. egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, soda, spices and salt. In cup, mix butter and molasses; stir in egg. Stir butter mixture into flour until dough forms. Shape dough into little balls the size of walnuts. Put on a nonstick greased cookie sheet.

Take a dampened water glass and dip bottom of glass in small bowl of water, then into a small bowl of sugar. The sugar will stick to the bottom of the glass, then press the glass down on cookies to flatten 1/4 inch thickness. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
