CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift sugar and flour together in a large mixing bowl. Mix butter, shortening, water and cocoa in saucepan. Bring to a rapid boil; pour over sugar-flour mixture and mix well. Mix in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour into a greased 16x11-inch pan. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.

Frosting:

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Put butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Beat well. Spread on cake while it is still hot.

Variation: May pour cake batter into two smaller pans to make layer cake.
