3/4 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Put butter and sugar in mixing bowl. With a fork, mash butter and sugar together until well blended. Pour eggs and vanilla over mixture and mix. Add flour. Sprinkle baking powder and salt over mixture and mix. Put dough in refrigerator to chill for at least one hour. Dough can be stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and baked whenever you wish. Roll out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes. Cookies freeze well.
