TOMATO VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 short rib of beef
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 onion sliced
1/2 c. diced celery
1 c. cooked tomatoes
1 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. rice
1/4 c. cooked green beans
1/4 c. cooked peas
1/4 c. cooked carrots
1/4 c. cooked corn

Brown short rib on all sides. Add butter to the pan if added fat is necessary and brown onion in fat. Add water and tomatoes in a saucepan and add short rib and onion. Start this simmering covered, while you get the rest of the ingredients ready. Do the celery first as this takes longest to get tender. As the other ingredients are ready, add them to the soup. Have fun with this one! Add anything you want to, vegetables or spices, or substitute noodles for rice. There is no limit to what you can put in this, as long as you like it. Cook about 45 minutes or until meat is tender and vegetables are done. Meat can be cut off bone and in small pieces before serving.
