1 lb. apples or any fruit filling (canned or fresh) 1 c. butter 2 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt Peel, core and slice apples. Add sugar and cinnamon to taste and set aside. Mix butter, flour, sugar and salt with a fork until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of mixture. Pat rest of mixture in the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan. Place fruit on top of crust. Sprinkle reserved flour mixture over top of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour (about 40 minutes for canned fruit). Cool when done. Drizzle top with powdered sugar frosting (if desired). |
