2 lg. (28 oz.) cans Campbell's pork and beans 1 lb. ground beef (ground round, chuck or sirloin may be used) 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 to 1 bell pepper, chopped 1/2 to 3/4 c. dark brown sugar 1/2 sm. bottle barbecue sauce 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. mustard Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste Add onion and bell pepper to ground meat. Brown meat, allowing onions and bell pepper to saute in the meat juices. Drain grease from the meat. Drain juice from pork and beans; add beans and remaining ingredients to meat and simmer several minutes. HINT: Mixture of flavors in enhanced when recipe is cooked in a crock pot on low for several hours. |
