HERBED GARLIC BREAD
1 long loaf (8 oz.) French or Italian bread
5 tbsp. butter, at room temperature
2 tbsp. minced parsley (fresh or dried)
2 green onions (using some of green), finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced or garlic powder
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crumbled
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cut bread diagonally in 1-inch slices, leaving bottom intact.

In a small bowl, blend remaining ingredients with a fork. Spread on both sides of bread slices, then top crust.

Wrap loaf tightly in aluminum foil and store in freezer up to 1 month or wrap loosely in foil and place on baking sheet and bake about 15 minutes at 400 degrees and serve hot.

From freezer, allow 30-35 minutes for baking. Very good with spaghetti or lasagna dinners.
