BARLEY SOUP 
1/2 c. barley
1/2 c. lima beans
2 whole carrots, cut up
1 stalk celery, cut up
1 piece flanken
A couple beef bones
1 leek
1 pkg. mushrooms
1/4 onion
Spices, salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash, etc. to taste

Boil flanken & bone in water for a couple minutes. Dump water. Place 8 cups water in a pot. Add all vegetables, barely, meat and spices and bring to a boil. Simmer until barley is tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
